Update 11/15

Wow!! We have been very busy in Room 8!

You may have noticed that we now have guest bloggers that take pictures and make posts to our blog.  The kids that have been guest bloggers so far have loved taking pictures on my iPhone and deciding what words I should type.  Keep checking for more posts.  We try to make a post a day but sometimes we just get too busy!

If you have not yet, please sign up for a parent conference.  We look forward to meeting with you to talk about your child's progress at school.

First grade progress reports are sent home before Thanksgiving break.  Kindergarten progress reports are sent home just after Thanksgiving break.  Please look for your child's progress report in their home-school folder.

Buddy Reading

First get a card and a buddy. Then get a book. Then read with your buddy. Make sure you take turns. Many kids like buddy reading.

Google Earth

Today we took a trip to the White House! We looked at pictures of President Obama and his family and dog. We also looked at pictures of Mitt Romney and voting booths.
We flew to Thompson and Stratton.

We did hard work. It was fun. The biggest number is 100. The smallest number is 1. Jeremiah and Joseph

Noah and Erica working together

They are being kind and respectful. They are working on their letters during Centers. They are working hard. They are not being silly. They are talking about their work. I'm excited for first grade mapping time. Thanks for reading.

What a fantastic group of authors we have in Room 8! Here are two pictures of students sharing their writing-one of the kids favorite steps of the writing process!
